Who We
Are
Joel McWaters is the president, and CTO of Custom
Classic L.E.D. Lighting. He is a full-time
Senior Printed Circuit Board Design Engineer in Southern California. He has been a designer for seven
years. He owns a 1967 Chevy C-10 truck he bought in 2000, from an older
gentleman in Cathedral City, Ca. He had wanted to “get an old truck and fix it up,
so he wouldn’t have to have a car payment.” He had owned a 1967 Ford in high
school, but after looking at pictures in trying to decide what to get, he
determined that the ’67 or ’68 Chevy truck would be his project.
Ryan Reum is the CEO, and Founder of Custom
Classic L.E.D. Lighting. Three
Years Navy, MR took Machinist A-School and graduated third in class behind
experienced machinist. He came up with the
whole LED insert idea while coming back from an R/C Monster Truck Race. In 1994
he first bought a '68 Short step from his uncle in Montana and
restored it. Next moved onto a '72 4X4
Blazer and converted it to a 2wd. Next he bought a Factory '72 2wd blazer in Bend Oregon.
Which is never to be parted with, and is current project. And the first '72 with Custom Classic 67-72
Fleetside LED inserts.
How We
Got Started
On
August 30 2002, Joel decided to ask this fellow board members on the
67-72chevytrucks.com message board about L.E.D. taillights that weren’t just
small replacements found at any auto parts store. Being a circuit board
designer, he knew he would be able to possibly make a set for his truck, but
decided it would be better all the way around if someone sold some that were
really nice. No one had any idea whether this was something that was being
produced.
Ryan posted that he made them by hand.
Interested in finding out about his design, he contacted him about them. From
there, Custom Classic L.E.D. Lighting was born.
They started from there with ’67 - ’72 Chevy/GMC fleetside taillights. They
setup a free website on tripod, and began to sell them by word of mouth.
Realizing that they would be in
development and ideas up to their eyebrows, but capital would be short, they
partnered with D2M Technologies. With D2M taking over the manufacturing,
assembly, and shipping, the CCLL boys were able to get back to new ideas, and
new products. That means more cool ideas, and having them to you faster!
Our Commitment to our Customers
We
want our customers to know that we care
about them, and we will support our products. If you buy something from us, we want you to be not just satisfied, but
happy. If you have bought a product from us, and you have a problem with it, we
will make it right, period. If you don’t like the way they look, or
they don’t light up enough for you, or are too bright, let us know, and we’ll
fix it, or give you a refund, in exchange for our non-damaged product back.
That’s it, if you aren’t happy, we aren’t happy.
